Practice Manager - Sarah Proud
I am Peter’s wife and a proud Mum to my 2 beautiful children. I am also an animal lover, that’s why at The Chiro Barn you are surrounded by happy, healthy and well-loved animals. As a member of Animals Australia I am passionate for all animals to be treated with kindness and respect.

I'm also a people person. I love meeting a new patient and getting to know them. Helping them make steps to improve their health, fitness and overall well-being. Over the years of being a Practice Manager I remember all of the achievements of our patients; the children who come out of their shells and start acting like children again, the parents who take control of their health and find they have more patience with their children. People who could hardly walk joining a fitness class, smokers for decades swapping their deadly habit for a healthy diet, and a new healthy belief in themselves.
We are all different but whenever I ask what has been the biggest driving force for their life changing improvements, patients all have the same answer...... Chiropractic!
Chiropractic does so much more than relieving pain we give people the tools to create the life they want and deserve….    I LOVE IT!

With Chiropractor - Dr. Peter Proud

“Teaching and sharing the principles of Chiropractic with my patients is something that I am very passionate about. This is one of the many reasons why I love being a Family Chiropractor.

My first experience of Chiropractic was when I was 14 years of age as a patient. I was suffering with terrible lower back pain after playing golf. My pack pain was really affecting my ability to play golf and my life in general. The pain in my lower back was so intense I couldn’t stand up straight, it hurt to breath. I was afraid that things were going to keep getting worse. I tried everything; well I thought I had tried everything.

My mum convinced me to see a chiropractor as her friend went there and was getting good results. As a teenager I was a bit skeptical. This chiropractor did a thorough examination and took some x-rays. He explained that my spine was out of place and it was irritating the nerves in my lower back and other areas in my spine. That was the problem.  It was explained in a way that just made so much sense. Then he ‘adjusted’ my spine. The adjustments didn’t hurt, they actually felt great. I got relief, I could stand up straight and walk and play golf again.  It worked so well for me. I was so impressed with chiropractic and its approach to health I decided to become a Chiropractor. So I guess that was the beginning of my own journey and a quest to learn and grow within a healing profession that I feel very proud to be a part of. Chiropractic has the ability to change people lives, just as it did mine.

I love spending time with my family, watching them grow and develop their personalities and talents. I think my proudest moment was witnessing the birth of my 2 beautiful children and having the privilege of delivering both of them into the world. This is a moment I am forever grateful.
I enjoy gardening and at The Chiro Barn we certainly have a lot of garden to keep me busy.
I have a Bachelor Degree in Medical Science from Sydney University, and gained a Masters of Chiropractic in the year 2000. I am internationally recognised and since graduating I have completed extensive studies in America, Europe and Australia. I have undergone extensive study and training studying the Science of Human Wellness with Dr James Chestnut and ‘The Wellness Practice TM’.

Gaining my Distinguished Fellow of Chiropractic Biophysics in 2005* (which is The Science of Spinal Health) was an exciting moment for me as helping people regain their normal healthy spinal curves and seeing the lasting change to patient’s is what gives me the most satisfaction as a Chiropractor.
* Chiropractic Biophysics or Clinical Biomechanics of Posture ® is the most researched and scientific chiropractic technique, emphasising optimal posture and spinal alignment.
